My Bestfriends’ Wedding

For the last 10 months, my two besties finally got married to their prince charmings. I was honored to create a wedding illustration for them. Here they are:

Dystopian Jakarta

Curhat Anak Bangsa (CAB) Publishing will sell customized sketchbook in SIngapore Toys and Comic Convention 2012 next September. I tried my hand doodling manually again without sketching it first, like I always did on my younger years. The result was quite surprising, not about the quality of my drawing, but apparently I still have my confidence with manual hand-drawing

Years of drawing digitally makes me lacking sensitivity when doing it with mere papers and pen. Better equip myself with sketchbook again, starting now!

About the title, I think I already given up hope on this city. Jakarta is no longer livable city.Pollution, poverty and crime can be seen everywhere you look. Hence there will no utopian concept ever emerge from this city, on the contrary, I can really see a bleak, dark future approaching it. Sounds too negative? Meh.

Afternoon Walk

When I was a kid, my overprotective mother rarely let me hanging out with our village neighbors. I never blame her for being that way, I am her only child, she has the right to be overprotective. But again, nothing good ever comes out from being in cage.

Now I always take my son to go out and play with the neighbor. He plays, he fights, he makes up, that’s what’s life all about.

Mustache Heroes

This time, Pictogram wants us to draw mustache themed illustrations. So I decided to draw a pack of heroes with distinctive facial hairs! Oh how I enjoyed drawing them! 🙂

I Hate Snakes!

Another challenge in Pictogram group, the chosen theme was to draw your own phobia. Hard? Of course it is hard! We have to draw something so repulsive that could make us squirm in disgust just by thinking of it.

And my phobia is..snakes! How could I draw something that terrifies me so much? So after reluctantly browsing for references, I finally managed my fear to draw this slimy slithering creature. I know it didn’t turn out that neat, I did it in a rush before the fear strikes!

Bane and Lecter

Speaking of Bane, after watching TDKR I googled how to speak with Scottish accent. I used to find Scottish a bit too rough for my taste, but Bane changed it all. His voice is such a lullaby to my ears LOL!

The Lannisters

Another coloring practice, why does it so hard to achieve a smooth brush effect, grrrr.

Anyway I just started watching game of Thrones season 2, and yes I am still deeply in love with Tyrion! 

Rango

I loooove Rango! Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy in a spagetti Western styled animation? Deadly combo! This movie is both funny and dark, even the creatures are so dirty without losing the cuteness factor! 🙂

And my favorite characters are, The Mariachi Owls. They look so cute as well as mature with those facial hair hahaa.
